Mario and Courtney are the founders and owners of RefiNow Financial. They are a married couple who currently reside in Orange County, California raising their four children.
It was at the photography company Olan Mills, where Courtney and Mario met. Courtney was managing a marketing team and Mario was a district sales manager. At the time, Courtney’s older brother had a successful mortgage brokerage in which he thought Courtney and Mario would be very valuable. Courtney was 18 years of age when she started working there, and her initial role was telemarketing and scheduling loan officers to meet with clients for the application process. Her ambition and customer care skills far exceeded the level of her much older work associates, and her success rates proved this accurate. Courtney then fulfilled the education to obtain her California real estate license and her NMLS license. This fully accredited her to move from telemarketing to originating mortgage loans with the same company. There were many times during her journey when people told Courtney “you will never be successful in the real estate business” and “you’re not capable of this line of work because you’re a woman”. What did she do about this obstacle? Instead of getting discouraged, she actually was propelled forward. Courtney excelled in proving all of those people very wrong. It was clear that originating loans and creating meaningful client relationships came natural to her. Within a very short period of time, Courtney became the top producer at that mortgage brokerage. Her work ethic and dedication to her clients separated her from everyone else.
At the same time, Mario completed his education to obtain his California real estate license and his NMLS license. He instinctively became a skilled loan originator because of his years of experience in sales and his very close attention to detail. Some years went by and both Mario and Courtney noticed something that changed their path drastically. The company they were both at did not compliment their aspirations and future goals in the real estate field. Courtney made the decision to put a hold on work so that she would have time to care for their first child. Mario had the goal to start his own brokerage, but he was looking for the right time and guidance to do so. For a few years after leaving the brokerage he and Courtney started at, he went on to manage teams of loan originators at different corporate offices to find a company that gave him the freedom to work at his utmost potential. He did not find a single company that met all of his expectations, so Mario knew it was time to work towards creating his quintessential company.
After thorough research and development, Mario started RefiNow Financial with his business partner Douglas from the ground up. With the help of Courtney and other key team members, the RefiNow team was born. It was born with three central ideas. First, the business model revolves around the client. Mario was determined to make sure that each customer that RefiNow worked with felt important and not like just a number in a corporate company’s system. Second, RefiNow was structured to have the capabilities of a full service mortgage broker without sacrificing family values. From client interactions to the office environment, compassion and genuine concern are vital. Lastly, RefiNow needed to maintain strong relationships with the nation’s top lenders so that client’s received the best interest rates and the most sophisticated technology.
